Hi, I’m Kira!

I began this blog to share my traveling experiences and the relationships I’ve made during my study abroad in the spring of 2022. Now, this blog is also home to my other travels! My posts hint at my Catholic faith, joy in trying new things, desire to meet new people, entrepreneurial spirit, and of course, my love for adventure.

I wrote my first travel journal on August 7, 2009, when my family flew from Texas to Russia to visit my mother’s side of the family. Since then, I have journaled each of my travel experiences, from family ski trips in Colorado, a medical service trip in the Dominican Republic, and a Mediterranean cruise with my mother in 2019. Writing my experiences has helped me remember my travels and recommend destination-specific places to my friends. For my semester in Prague, I decided to document my experience through a blog. (I keep reminding myself that I am studying abroad, and not just traveling abroad. :))

I enjoy traveling for the thrill of experiencing something new. I am hooked on the rush of seeing the beauty in architecture, nature, and culture (specifically churches, mountains, and dancing). Thankfully, my family has the same mindset towards traveling, and my parents have made exposing our family to experiences a priority. I am so excited to meet incredible people from all over the world (I’m an extrovert, can you tell?) and hear their stories of a life different than my own.
